Remembering Micheal Nourot

We are saddened by the recent passing of Micheal Nourot, long-time Bay Area glass artist. Micheal was instrumental in the original establishment of Pilchuck in Washington and his studio in Benicia has been open for forty years. His son Nick has continued to head the studio after Micheal’s retirement a couple of years ago. Our sympathies go to Micheal’s wife Ann Corcoran and the rest of his family. A wonderful memorial was recently held and I attended along with several other GLANC members – Marvin Lipofsky, John Lewis, Mary White, Kirk Podawiltz, John Bell and Patrick Fleming. A large crowd of friends, neighbors, collectors and fellow artists paid tribute to Micheal via testimony, pictures and film clips. Read this article in the Benicia Herald.
